What on Earth?! Orca Fever

Ocean Sun [background whale] has an unusual saddle patch, while Lolita [foreground whale] has a small cleft at the forward end of her eye patch.

Ocean Sun [background whale] has an unusual saddle patch, while Lolita [foreground whale] has a small cleft at the forward end of her eye patch.

This rendition of two specific whales was created at the request of Orca Network for their fund raising activities.  Lolita, the daughter of Ocean Sun, is a full grown whale in a Miami aquarium, and is the subject of a “Free Lolita” campaign.

Both whales are created with black stain on light toned myrtlewood, with the markings true to the actual whales, and each pair is mounted on a myrtle burl base.   Because of the popular bidding in the fundraisers, a limited edition of twenty was established, and now only half of those are available.

Proceeds from the sales benefit the Orca Network, which is located on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound area of Washington State.

A raffle for the #3 pair in the edition is ongoing, and will close on Dec. 5.  Links to the raffle can be found on the facebook page, Orca Network Reunion Raffle.      Website; http://www.orcanetwork.org
